  Profile of Chairman, Port Qasim Authority

Mir Afsar Din Talpur, Chairman Port Qasim Authority, has 32 years of meritorious service at his credit and carries rich and diverse professional experience of various key positions in Port Qasim. Prior taking over as Chairman, PQA,  he held distinctive post of Director General (Planning & Development). The officers besides holding a Master Degree is also a Law Graduate. His earlier assignments in PQA  included:  Director (Security & Transport), Director (Human Resource), Director (Environment & safety) and Director (Industrial Management). The Officer is also a fellow of Chartered Institute of Logistics Transport, United kingdom.

The officer has had the opportunities to attend various national and international training courses  during his impeccable tenure which  include: IMO Globalization & Role of a Seafarer, Facilitation of International  Maritime, Disaster Control Management and Shipping & Port Management. The officer also had the recent opportunity to undertake analytical study  on the working of Container Terminal in Singapore.

The Officer has made remarkable contributions to the Planning & Development Division of Port Qasim Authority whereby the officer had the  distinction of framing and streamlining Land Allotment Policy.   Retrospectively as Director (Environment & safety) he was instrumental in making Standard Operating Procedures for the  National Oil Contingency Plan and Search & Rescue Operation at Port Qasim. The officer was actively associated  in the assessment of  Equipment necessary to combat Oil Spill and Fire Fighting in PQA.

Mir Afsar Din Talpur lives a content  married life and is blessed with a son and a daughter.
