The Minister for Ports & Shipping Sardar Nabil Ahmed Gabol visited Port Qasim on 6th Dec. 2008. Mir Afsar Din Talpur, Chairman Port Qasim Authority welcomed the honourable guest at his arrival. The honourable Minister while paying rich tribute to the leadership of Pakistan Peoples Party laid foundation stone of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Memorial Hospital at Port Qasim. He also inaugurated the long awaited demarcation of Gulshan–e-Qasim Township Housing Scheme. Chairman, Port Qasim Authority in his welcome address gave a brief account of development being taking place at PQA. The honourable Minister in his address lauded PQA role in the development of national economy. He urged the employees and officers of PQA to work hard for the betterment of PQA. Later, the Minister and his team was given a detailed briefing on Port Qasim Authority highlighting the development projects being undertaken at PQA in private sector. The Chairman PQA apprised the honourable guest about the Island City projects and the consequential Foreign Direct Investment which will further induce development of allied industries, commerce and trade.
